Meet our Executive Team

Stephen Lark

Stephen Lark

Exec Chairman

I followed in my father, John Lark’s, footsteps into the family business in 1988, after studying Geography and Archaeology at Exeter University. I gained experience by working in both the Private and Corporate Client sides of the business. I became a Partner in 1993, and then a Director following incorporation in 2000. I gained the ACII qualification in 1992, and have been a member of the Chartered Insurance Institute’s Broking Faculty Board since 2008.

As the Executive Chairman of the new Aston Lark, I have specific responsibility for Group Marketing, HR and the Employee Benefit division. For me, it’s always been rewarding to help create an environment where people can grow in their careers and take pride in the service that we provide to our clients.

After studying at Exeter University I embarked on a career in Finance, qualifying as a Chartered Accountant with Deloitte's and then moving to Lloyds Bank with three years spent in Hong Kong, before joining Lark in 2000.

As Finance Director of the new Aston Lark, I am responsible for all of the Group’s Finance and Accounts functions, as well as for Facilities. As such I enjoy a varied role which has presents constant challenges and is always subject to change. Working for Aston Lark is special. The company, despite its growth, maintains its culture as a business where people really care about the service provided, and recognises and nurtures staff potential, as well as being a social and friendly place to work.

Meet with Aston Lark to discuss your business and succession plans for the future...

If you have already made the decision to look at sale options then we would love the opportunity to meet with you and discuss the possibilities in more detail.

We are able to consider acquisitions on any of the following criteria:

  • Acquisition of specific books of business only
  • Acquisition of the limited company including all of the shares
  • Fully upfront purchases
  • Staggered purchases
  • Earn outs that give significant upside opportunity

In addition we can be completely flexible regarding office location, specific staffing needs and your future in the business. Crucially, whichever option you choose with Aston Lark, you can rest assured on two key issues:

  • You are dealing with a company that prides itself on its integrity
  • We care passionately about our clients and our staff – and we will care passionately about yours

I have to say that the whole process thereafter ran like a well oiled machine. What I particularly liked is that Aston Scott took my views on the transfer process into account and I can honestly say that Aston Scott have been extremely efficient and helpful in the process. I could not have asked for more. Whilst Aston Scott offered a good price for my business it was equally important to me that my clients would be well looked after moving forward and I can see that this is happening.
